This year’s edition of the exhibition is going to focus on diversification of export markets

The HVACR sector, an industry of significant value to the Turkish economy, will again come together at ISK-SODEX between 2 and 5 October 2019 in Istanbul. The exhibition aims to facilitate new commercial cooperation opportunities between Turkish manufacturers and delegations from the European Union, Africa, and South America. Eurovent is an official supporter of the event.

First certification programme to accommodate Middle East conditions

Dubai, 30 May 2019. Following a discussion with Eurovent Middle East members and participants of the VRF certification programme, Eurovent Certita Certification adopted the addition of high ambient temperature conditions to its certification programme for variable refrigerant flow systems. Tailormade for the Middle East market, products can now be certified to display their performance in hot or very hot climatic environments.

Stijn Renneboog has joined the Eurovent Association as Strategic Relations Manager

Morten Schmelzer, Executive Director of Eurovent, leaves the association effective as of 1 June 2019 after 6 successful years of serving Europe’s HVACR industry. He is going to join a member company while further developing his own IT business. Stijn Renneboog, who has recently joined the organisation, and Andrea Gasparova are going to take over the majority of Morten’s tasks.

Naci Sahin elected as President for a second term, new membership structure adopted

Braga, Portugal, 24 May 2019. During their 62nd Annual Meeting hosted by EFRIARC (Portuguese association of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers), the Eurovent members have elected Naci Sahin (FRITERM, Turkey) for a second term as President of Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. The General Assembly has furthermore adopted a new membership structure, which shall ensure the long-term sustainability of the Eurovent Association beyond the background of changing boundary conditions.   

Organisations announce cooperation in the fields of safety and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Dubai, 22 May 2019. UL and Eurovent Middle East have announced their cooperation in the region to work towards higher safety standards in relation to HVAC equipment and installations. Both organisations also will form a joint working group to develop initiatives for improved Indoor Air Quality. To underline this cooperation, UL takes an Associate Membership with Eurovent Middle East.

Abu Dhabi, Dubai, 30 January 2019. The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) and Eurovent Middle East have announced the formation of a joint working group to develop Conformity Assessment Schemes for Air Handling Units and Fan Coil Units. The association of the region’s leading HVACR manufacturers will encourage organisation and coordination of industry stakeholders and is calling on interested manufacturers to join the working group.

The Middle East’s HVACR industry association continues expansion
