Eurovent Middle East has announced the next webinar within its HVACR Leadership Workshops series, focusing on technologies best suited to retrofitting in supermarkets in order to reduce energy consumption. Commercial refrigeration systems account for about 40-60% of the electricity consumption in supermarkets according to various studies in the market. Purchase of new, high-efficiency refrigeration equipment has cost implications, which is why targeted retrofits or upgrades to existing systems can be the most cost-effective and practical strategy for many food retailers, supermarket owners and chains.

The transition in presidency is necessitated by a change of work assignment of the first and long-time President, Mr Brian Suggitt. Mr Suggitt has led the Association since its establishment, having earned respect and admiration from the industry for his integrity, commitment and amiability. He is succeeded by the current Vice President Mr Tariq Al Ghussein, CEO of Taqeef, one of the region’s foremost cooling and energy solutions providers.

With knowledge on the COVID-19 pandemic constantly evolving, Eurovent Middle East takes a closer look at ventilation aspects essential for the safe and continued use of our built infrastructure. The two-part webinar will cover a range of topics from Hygienic Air Handling Units, Energy Recovery and Air Recirculation to condition based monitoring and drives. It is designed for engineers, service providers and building operators alike.

<p>In order to help manufacturers gain certainty, Eurovent Market Intelligence (EMI) will publish a report analysing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the European HVACR industry at the end of September. The report will include results of a recently launched EMI survey targeting HVACR product manufacturers. The survey runs until 11 September 2020. Interested manufacturers are encouraged to participate.</p>
