Eurovent Middle East signs MoU with National Association of Mechanical Engineers of the Philippines

Pambansang Samahan NG Inhenyero Mekanikal (PSIM) is the National Association of Mechanical Engineers of the Philippines, whose many members working in the Middle East are active in its respective chapters in the Gulf. Its UAE chapter and Eurovent Middle East have now formalised their longstanding partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding, which includes support for each other’s activities and events, facilitated access to educational activities, and an exchange of experts and speakers whenever feasible.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the 1st Middle East Mechanical Engineering Summit organised by PSIM at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, on 01 December 2023 in Dubai.

In his address to the attendees, Markus Lattner, Managing Director of Eurovent Middle East, highlighted the importance of MEP engineers to the industry: “The design and selection of HVACR systems and components form the basis of any energy efficiency level in our buildings. By understanding the technology available and through exact specifications, consultants not only influence energy consumption, but they also contribute to a fair competitive environment for manufacturers where efficient products are not outpaced by cheap but low quality solutions.”

Juanito Ingal Jr, Committee on Membership Interest and Development, PSIM UAE Chapter, outlines the MoU: “As we embark on this Memorandum of Understanding with Eurovent Middle East (EME), we recognise the rich history of our collaborative efforts with EME and value the positive impact of our joint initiatives. This MoU signifies a deepening of our partnership, providing a solid framework for us to continue our shared mission. Our collaboration aims to advance knowledge, skills, and awareness within the engineering community, particularly focusing on cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to fostering a more sustainable and resilient future. We are honoured to join forces with EME and look forward to achieving impactful outcomes together.”

Lattner further highlights the importance of this cooperation: “We have been partnering many times with the Filipino Mechanical Engineers in the past, and greatly appreciate their work and activities. This MoU will strengthen our cooperation and will further our joint efforts to raise knowledge and awareness within the engineering community on technologies and solutions for a more sustainable future. We are proud to partner with PSIM, and this partnership will be an extremely helpful multiplicator for our educational efforts.”

Consultants and MEP engineers form a key target audience for the members of Eurovent Middle East. Improved specifications of HVACR products are a vital requirement in its efforts to increase sustainability of the sector, as they can shift the market towards higher performing systems and components. Therefore, educational cooperation with discounted access to EME’s course programme for members of PSIM forms the heart of the MoU.
